Transportation
Hui Mālama Ola Nā ‘Ōiwi provides free door-to-door transportation to registered clients to get them to and from physician, diagnostic lab, pharmacy, social service, and other non-emergency health-related appointments. Transportation assistance is available to clients with limited mobility and to residents of more rural areas around the island via four-wheel-drive vehicles and a specially equipped van with an automatic lift. Our highly trained Transportation Specialists at each of our five sites around the island (Hilo, Pāhoa, Ka‘ū, Kona and Waimea) accompany and assist clients from time of pick-up to drop-off to make sure they arrive safely and on time. Each driver has a clean traffic abstract and has completed Standard CPR and First Aid training.
Transportation assistance is available Monday through Friday by appointment only. To access this service clients are required to have a prior appointment to an existing Health-care Provider or Health-Care Facility. For more information please call one of our office’s located near you.
